Make-A-Wish Tanzania

The Make-A-Wish movement aims to bring hope, strength, and joy to children facing critical illnesses like cancer by making their wishes come true. Make-A-Wish Tanzania is a programme implemented by Tumaini la Maisha, a charity based in Tanzania, as part of the Make-A-Wish International network.

The Tumaini la Maisha, TLM, mission is that no child in Tanzania suffers or dies unnecessarily from cancer and we strive to provide resources and services to help with this mission. Wish granting fits beautifully within our overall goals.

Established in 2024 as the first member of the Make-A-Wish International network based in Africa, Tumaini la Maisha is proud to bring the power of a wish-come-true to children in Tanzania who are facing a cancer diagnosis.

When a child is diagnosed with a critical illness like cancer, their childhood is stolen—joy and play replaced by fear and pain, and their dreams begin to fade. A wish restores hope, sparks joy, and shows a future full of possibilities. It brings lasting benefits to the child and their family, building resilience they need to face the journey ahead.

Make-A-Wish Tanzania is a programme implemented by Tumaini la Maisha, a charity which aims to reach every child in Tanzania who develops cancer, and provide high quality treatment free-of-charge with the hope for a continued and healthy life. Make-A-Wish Tanzania aims to bring hope, strength, and joy to the children they serve by granting their wishes.
